Moravian Care Foundation's fiscal support enables the Moravian Care Ministries in carrying out its mission of providing care, service and ministry for the elderly through a partnership of staff, residents, families, volunteers, churches, and the community. Moravian Care Ministries is a community based organization, specializing in care and service to the aging population in the communities we serve. Affiliated with the Moravian Church in America, non-sectarian care and service is provided to all individuals in our community that desire to receive their care or service from a Christian environment/organization.
How Gifts to Moravian Care Ministries Foundation Are Used
Why Moravian Care Ministries Foundation Is Important
It is impossible to predict the future, but we can take steps today to prepare for a rapidly changing society. Not too far into the future the populations of the elderly, persons with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias will dramatically increase. The Moravian Care Foundation is taking steps now to ensure that this special ministry will continue well into the future. Who will care for them? There will be ongoing financial, legislative, staffing and other challenges facing Moravian Care Ministries. The State of Minnesota 2007 legislative session ended with deeply disappointing results for aging adult service providers. For nursing facilities in 2007, the bill offers 1.87 percent. Beginning in rate year 2008, the bill phases in rebasing of facility rates over an eight-year period, and pushes any meaningful increase out several years. This means that we, as an organization, in order to continue offering quality care must rely more on our Foundation for meaningful donations to support our operating and capital needs. Gifts to The Moravian Care Foundation will grow and provide years of support for the people Moravian Care Ministries cares for both today and for many years to come.
